The Wonderyears Choir
Based in Virginia Water,

Based on an idea from a Channel 4
documentary about the US Choir, Young@Heart,
Virginia Water resident, Dave Thomas,
formed the Wonderyears Choir in October 2007.
The Wonderyears Choir, backed by the
Wonderyears Band, is made up of local
senior citizens who belt out classic rock
numbers as well as more poignant
recent ballads from groups such as
Coldplay.
Dave says “Members of the choir have found
a new lease of life
and their performances are both
inspirational and moving."

sing traditional music
– I believe that this choir is unique in
The Wonderyears Choir’s first full public
performance in May 2008 was a sell-out
with the Choir receiving a standing
ovation at the end of the performance.
From then onwards the Wonderyears have
been in regular demand and have raised
thousands of pounds for charities. The
Choir has also appeared on BBC local radio.

citizens who enjoy rock and pop music and having fun.
